We have several nursing mamas on the 100% plant-based, gluten-free, superfood-rich program (including our founders, Danielle and Whitney!) who found that Sakara has supported them nicely, providing the nutrition they and their babies needed. The most important thing is always to listen to your body, so while some of our Sakara mamas thrive on the program as-is, others find that they feel best when supplementing the meals with clean, whole food snacks and/or additional plant or animal proteins.
If you are experiencing low supply and/or feeling hungry, we absolutely recommend that you increase your food intake. One of Danielle's go-to dishes for increasing supply is a cup of oats with raw almond butter, hemp seeds, a teaspoon of maple syrup, and a dash of cinnamon—not only is this delicious, but also effective! Also, our Detox Tea contains lemongrass which has galactagogue properties that help increase milk production.
