Your health is our top priority, and we are always committed to food safety and responsible sourcing. We know you may have concerns about the coronavirus, so we wanted to take a moment to let you know what steps we are taking to keep both you and our team safe and healthy.
We uphold the highest standards for hygiene and sanitation. Although studies show that the coronavirus does not survive in food, there are always rigorous practices in place at our two kitchens to prevent the potential spread of germs. Our kitchens perform small group trainings to reinforce good manufacturing practices, paying special attention to effective hand washing, using personal protective equipment to prevent contamination (gloves, masks, and face shields), and ensuring strict adherence to all rules and policies - including enforcement of social distancing. Additionally, we have invested in hiring a professional deep cleaning and disinfecting team to come clean our kitchens.
Supporting our team is of critical importance to us. We are paying our teams as normal and have extended paid sick leave to encourage anyone to stay home if feeling uneasy or sick in any way. We're also doing our best to continue operations to provide continuity for our team, while not compromising our team or our clients' safety.
Sakara meals and products are produced within the United States. We source our food ingredients domestically from thoroughly vetted farms and suppliers, and we're in close touch with all our vendors about their sanitation practices.
Sakara products are still shipping nationwide, however we are experiencing occasional shipping delays. Orders may take up to an additional 72 hours to be processed. These delays are due to our partner facilities practicing safety precautions to maintain the health of all teams involved. In order to receive products sooner, there is still an option to upgrade to expedited shipping.
It is our mission to help you nourish your body and experience all the life-changing benefits of plant nutrition. Eating a diet rich in fresh, organic, nutrient-rich plant foods is one of the most effective ways to support a healthy immune system that can fight off infection. To further protect your health, remember to wash your hands frequently, try not to touch your face excessively, and limit your exposure to people showing obvious symptoms of illness.
We continue to closely monitor the CDC and FDA recommendations and will update the website if there any changes to our operation in the future.
