We’ve listed the recycling information below, but suggest checking with your local recycling program to see how your community’s program works.
Our clear food containers are coded #1 plastic, are widely recycled, and can be accepted curbside.
The delivery boxes can be accepted curbside and are part of standard paper recycling.
The lining of the boxes depends on your delivery type. The metalized outer shell can be recycled at locations accepting plastic coded with #7. For nationwide deliveries, it is necessary to cut out the foam from the sleeve and it can be recycled at various locations. (The most popular options being the recycling drop boxes found at supermarkets and the recycling centers that accept carpet pad recycling).
The plastic part of our ice packs are curbside recyclable. The inner gel is non-toxic and should be disposed of in the garbage.
Local clients can leave out their boxes, liners and ice packs for our drivers to pick up. The Sakara team will sort, clean and recycle them appropriately. We cannot accept your meal containers for pick-up; you will need to recycle those with your household recycling.
